Extensions

In the photos below, a range of recently completed extensions are shown in the Bristol area. In each of these building projects we formed new structural openings and knock throughs to provide kitchen / diner areas. Predominantly these projects were carried out to Victorian era housing giving a light airy transformation, which with a direct connection made to the garden via patio doors, created lovely contemporary family living. We have also worked on Georgian and homes built outside of these periods.(see Commercial works - period restoration).

In the example of the large ground floor extension we dug out part of the basement, to allow more head room for tall clients, and moved the kitchen with all associated services downstairs from the ground floor. A goal post steel was needed along with additional foundation pads to support the two stories above. There was a lot of digging in this job but fortunately there was side access. The flat roof was finished with EPDM rubber with exposed ‘warehouse’ style beams. All works were Architect lead and fully building control compliant.

JS Carpentry and Build project managed and worked alongside experienced and tried and tested sub-contractors to carry out all aspects of the builds. The works incorporated, to mention but a few things, the rendering, plastering, electrical and plumbing, carpentry and structural works through to fittings and fixtures.
